The Team :
Stefan FOLKESSON is Team
Manager and the principal rider in the Team Ducati Sweden, racing this
year in the 2001 European and Swedish Supersport Championships.
29 years old, Stefan is a well known and popular rider in the Swedish
and Scandinavian racing scene.
This year, he will concentrate on the European
Championship, after finishing 8th
last year.
The Swedish rounds, run simultaneously with the Swedish
Touring-Car Championship, will benefit this year from the excellent
logistics of this popular and well promoted race series and will be
broadcast on Swedish Television, as well as the pre-season testing in
Pau , France, in April.
Stefan rides in the colours of Team
Ducati Sweden/Shell Advance , on semi-official
Factory supported 748 RS Ducatis which gives him access to high performance
bikes and to a professional organisation with the necessary international
experience to support his ambitions.

Stefan begins riding motorbikes at 13 , before
starting road-racing competition in 1992.
1991 Holder of
Swedish record in high speed wheelies at 196
km/h with a passenger and 216
km/h without
1992 Begins racing
: 1992 and 1993 will be geared towards training and preparation for
the 1994 season.
1994 He finishes
2nd in the Swedish Supersport Championship
on a Honda CBR600F
1995 Becomes the
Swedish Supersport Champion and finishes at the same time
3rd in the Nordic Championship and
4th in the Danish Championship.
1996 4th
in the Swedish Championship and 2nd in
the Nordic Championship, once again on Honda
CBR600
1997 Winner
of the Swedish Supersport Championship for the 2nd
time, 3rd
in the Scandinavian Open Championship, 3rd
in the Danish Championship on Suzuki
GSX-R 600.
1998 Start of season
injury ruining his 1998 season, he creates his team Folkesson racing
and prepares for the 1999 season.
1999 Back on the
scene, he finishes 5th
in the Swedish Supersport Championship, on Suzuki
GSX-R600.
2000 New Century,
New Challenge. First year in the European Supersport Championship,
he finishes 8th
overall and first rider on a Ducati,
despite missing some of the European rounds due to date clashes with
the Swedish championship.
